The two images shown are part of a collection titled “Searching” where Ms. Stewart broke from her usual human/ animal subjects, and focused more on the emotional human experience of feeling lost, and searching for hope.

Gretchen Stewart is a photographer local to New Mexico. Ms. Stewart studied photography at the University of New Mexico, and uses her love for photography to capture intimate portraits of friends, pets, and her children. She started actively pursuing black and white photography as a young adult, and over the years, has developed a style combination of using both her love for black and white photography, blended with selective color.
